Welcome to Tradewind Yachts |
|
At Walsoorden, a charming village in Zeeland, in the south of The Netherlands, you will find the new home and sole building facility of the well known range of Tradewind cruising yachts which for over 40 years have sailed the seas and oceans of the world, creating for themselves an enviable reputation for reliability and seaworthiness. With traditional timeless lines, strong simple rigs, semi-bespoke interiors, all carefully crafted using only the very best materials and equipment, these sailing yachts have proved over the years to be an enduring investment for the discerning cruising yachtsman.

The first Tradewind 33 was originally conceived and built for many years in the United Kingdom by various yards,
as was her replacement the Tradewind 35. However, in 2006 a decision was made by the management of Tradewind Yachts,
in view of the demands of the European RCD and other modern technical standards, that there was a need to rationalize and control the
building of the entire Tradewind range at their central European facility with its immediate access to deep water and
to the specialist marine service providers so important to the economical build, sale and maintenance of modern sailing vessels. This
choice of location also provides easy access to the English Channel and to both the North Sea and Baltic cruising areas and to the
wider world market through the local Ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp. At the same time the location allows a pleasant rural/marine
environment for the dedicated Tradewind workforce (and also to visiting clients) who are currently building the range
of CE-A classified Tradewind designs that starts with the surprisingly spacious and fast Atoll at only
25 feet/7.62m over the deck through the Islander (32feet/9.63m) and Tradewind 35 (35 feet/10.67m) with
the Tradewind 45 and other new designs in development for the future.

The yard also fits out to the same high standards the well know McNulty-Kielder range of GRP clinker hulled classical design boats of 9 to 16 feet in length that can be propelled by oar, sail or outboard motor and all having CE-C classification.

As builders of traditional yachts it is natural that we undertake and utilize our skilled workforce in the maintenance and restoration of vessels of this type and we are happy to discuss and advise owners on such work.

You are very welcome to visit us and to make arrangements to inspect any of these craft - our motto "don't just buy a boat, have one hand built" - you will remember the quality long after you forget the price!
